However, teaching can be easier due to the ingredients and various strategies and methods introduced to help and make teaching less complicated since an individual is dealing with the entire future of a person in their hands. Therefore, this paper discusses the major ingredients of teaching as a career.

Attitude

According to (Hill, et al.,2021), a teacher’s attitude toward the learners plays a vital role in one’s career as a teacher. Notably, an attitude refers to the thoughts and perceptions of the teachers and, as such, has the power to determine how the teacher will act and react towards a situation or the learner. In this case, (English Standard Version 1st Tim 3:2) an overseer should be hospitable, gentle and able to teach the overseer in the bible represents the teacher Additionally, attitude is a key element and ingredient in teaching since it shapes and constructs both learner and teacher’s education experience. In this case, a teacher is expected to have clean thoughts when teaching learners despite the stress and emotional and mental instability. Noteworthy, the learners switch their minds depending on the teacher’s attitude. In this case, a learner can deliberately lose concentration during a lesson just because they do not like the teacher’s attitude, resulting in a bad performance in the subject. Moreover, teachers with the correct mindset receive positive feedback from the learners. In addition, for learners to be enthusiastic and excited about the subject, a teacher has to have a positive attitude and emotions to connect deeper with the learners.

Knowledge

Following (Hanuscin et al.,2018), a teacher should at least have content knowledge of the subject. In this case, knowledge is essential for the teaching profession and other careers. Also, being equipped with pedagogical subject knowledge identifies a teacher’s skills to engage their learners during the class session; this is essential to help motivate the learners about the subject.

Concepts

Concepts are other essential and critical ingredients needed in teaching, making teaching very effective. In this case, concepts provide both the teacher and the learner with a clear and vivid understanding of the subject. In addition, not only do the concepts help make learning and teaching much easier it also makes learning much fun due to the use of various devices and concepts to ensure the learners grasp what they are taught. Hence, teachers should have various ideas and concepts to engage learners in fun, energetic, and enthusiastic learning sessions. Additionally, the use of concepts is short-term and long-term; thus, a teacher equipped with different concepts is considered an asset in the teaching field.

Beliefs and Values

By (Barni et al.,2019), beliefs and values are essential ingredients in the teaching field. In this case, an individual’s beliefs and values motivate the teacher and make the teacher self-driven; as such, quality teaching is guaranteed. Additionally, (English Standard Version, Luke 6:39) Jesus states that one should choose a teacher who has good values since a blind person cannot lead a blind person, they will fall in a pit hence the need to have teachers who have good beliefs and values that can help the learners. Also, beliefs and values influence the decisions of the teacher and the relationship connection they have with the learners. Also, beliefs and values are essential in the teacher’s teaching preparation since they use their beliefs and values to reference what is morally right to teach the learners. Moreover, beliefs and values equip the teacher with self-discipline and self-control; immoral relationships involving teachers and learners are avoided. Finally, diligently and positively implementing their personal beliefs and values gives the teachers a sense of satisfaction and contentment in their careers.

Effective Communication and Quality of Instruction

In this case, quality of instruction is also an ingredient and element required in teaching. Notably, as a teacher, one should be able to convey and communicate effectively with the learners about the subject and instruction in a manner that invokes the learners’ critical thinking. Additionally, a teacher is expected to be equipped and well-versed with better communication skills that help engage the learners in and out of the classroom. In this case, it is only through effective, clear, and vivid communication skills that learners can understand what they are taught. Finally, quality of instruction gives the learners a clear picture of what they expect to achieve in the subject, their education, and life itself; hence can make better decisions and take ownership of not only their education but also their life. As such, the need for a teacher to be an effective communicator both in and out of the classroom is a requirement for effective teaching.

Conclusion

Ultimately, the teaching career is not for the weak, timid, and cowards since this career can either build and also destroy the future of an individual. In this case, many ingredients, attributes, and traits are required for one to excel and positively impact the learners and the world at large. Finally, every teacher has unique ingredients that spice up their career as a teacher, hence why every teacher has their teaching method and how they convey information to their learners.
