Advancing Environmental Sustainability: A Motivation Letter

Motivation Letter

The world population is increasing rapidly, matching the increase of primary-level industries in manufacturing and processing. This situation has led to the creation of sectors that rarely meet the standards in regard to the management of waste, a situation which is much witnessed in developing countries. While the developed states are eyeing the developing countries to set up a basis, the issues of their entrance into these financially capped nations send more questions. There is a query about how governments have worked towards ensuring that any manufacturing or processing activity is geared towards environmental sustainability and mitigating the adverse effects on the environment through renewable energy. Since the issues of sustainability and renewable energy are essential at the current time, I have opted to advance my knowledge and practical skills by enrolling for a master of (Name of the course) at (University Name). I want to draw from the integrative approach of the program, which combines the methods of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

My academic journey has been characterized by hard work and trying new things for myself, with the principal intention of developing my knowledge in the areas of sustainability and renewable energy. The school emphasized completing an internship program to develop critical skills required in a real working environment. I was privileged to take my internship at Eracew Limited, Ghana, a plastic recycling company, to accomplish this requirement. I was actively involved in the company’s different departments, including waste consultancy, waste value creation, sustainability and environmental consulting, and waste trading. One of the areas that excited and appealed to me most was the sustainability and environmental consulting section, since it involved me in research, preparing reports and presentations to create awareness and inspire actions among the stakeholders. This engagement allowed me to interact with different people within the community, and one thing that became clear was that people needed proper information regarding sustainability and also their role in environmental protection. This created an urge within me to further my education in this area, thus my choice for a Master in (Name of the Course)

Considering my experience in the plastic recycling company, combined with my undergraduate degree, I have gained the right background to advance my education in an area geared towards protecting our environment. I bring a wealth of knowledge on handling waste, converting it into usable products, and venturing into the market of such items. My immediate goal is to complete the master’s program, to be able to refine my knowledge and narrow down to a few areas of interest. Also, immediately after completing the master’s program, I will look for a job placement in the recycling industry and later curve my niche as a consultant. Through your seasoned professors in my area of specialization, I hope to widen my understanding and learn from them how to deal with matters of the environment. Equally, I will leverage the network of your diverse alumni and learn from them on the emerging topics in sustainability and renewable energy. I look forward to joining (Name of University) to pursue a Master’s (Course Name).
