Kierkegaard’s Stages of Life
Dear friends Brian, Joseph and Mary. The three stages of life according to Kierkegaard’s theory include the aesthetic stage. In this stage of life, a person values all the pleasures of so as to fulfill his or her needs of personal enjoyments. This stage is experienced by childhood who are yet to mature to adulthood stage. Secondly, the ethical stage precedes after an individual has now matured. In this stage, the person starts to realize the important ethics of life. These ethics enable the person to live with other people comfortably in society. The person also begins to understand the need for making other people happy by being friendly and considerable in his or her actions. Lastly, the person enters the religious stage of life.
Stages of Life
After asking my friends about their stage of life, I found out that all of them are in the ethical stage of life. They were able to tell me that in this stage, they have managed to learn about the ethical requirements of life which include honesty and law-abiding virtues which they have learned from their parents and from college.
Considering their ages and life experiences, it is true that these are important factors that affected the answers that they provided. Their ages have enabled them to reason clearly when answering this question. Age influences the life stages. As a person grows old, he faces a number of challenges that in turn affects the maturity level. Therefore, the age and experiences gained in life influences the life stages.
Currently, I am in the Religious stage of life. Therefore, I find a great difference in what I value in life. I believe it is important for a person to love and devote his life to God. I believe that by trusting in God, it is possible to achieve all the ethical values of life.
