Anglican Overseas Aid

Many at a time, countries don’t accomplish various sustainable development targets, especially in healthcare, poverty eradication, disaster management, and peace installation. According to Olivier et al.,(2015), faith-based health’s endowment to multiple countries is essential. Faith-based organizations are based on and associated with religious beliefs. Moreover, these organizations work to  better various continents and communities in need. These organizations can better understand the nearby contexts and deliver better and standard services that add to consensus building and local link communities with relevant authorities (Bertram, 2021). Anglican Overseas aid is a faith-based organization based in Australia that is well developed and focused in a remote society. It aims to develop and enhance partnerships in developing countries to overcome poverty and environmental problems and inspire citizens on the importance of peace. The FBOs’ useful links to multiple countries address different cultural factors and add to higher mortality and morbidity. This paper discusses the aim of Anglican Overseas aid as a faith-based organization and how it has strategist in serving large populations and partnerships with other relevant organizations worldwide.

Anglican Overseas Aid, an Anglican Church of Australia, was founded by the late David Penman in 1988. Who was the “Archbishop of Melbourne’s international Relief and development fund.” The organization aims to create a peaceful and sustainable free poverty world in response to Anglican churches’ request. The organizations’ strategies are in line to  support partners in taking action and conform to environmental challenges, inspiring fellow citizens (“Anglican Overseas Aid | Life. Abundantly. For All.”, 2021).  Furthermore, its strategic objectives on how to serve the vulnerable are as follows.

  • Strategic objective one

Anglican Overseas Aid (AOA) aims to develop good relationships with their partners to create a platform in which they can effectively enhance the effectiveness of the programs to be rolled out. And that is achieved by using all means of listening to their vulnerable and invulnerable partners, cooperating to produce a good value, and being ready to accept new strategic ideas.

  • Strategic objective two,

Creating a legal renewable growth framework that can center and concentrate on the extremity of the partnership. That will enhance the continuation of the collaboration and also proper management of the organization. This framework also aims to sustain the activities, basis for participation, and members’ roles in involvement in the organization for various countries involved. Thus, the framework will at enormous help vulnerable, other actions and minimize disputes.

  • Strategic objective three,

To strengthen our Christian faith for the authorities involved obtaining a deeper comprehension as well as involvement with AOA as an overall agency faith-based development. Hence, the vulnerable will be able to express their deep concise to the organization. Moreover, the influence can lead to high quality, and useful in development and population prevalent.

  • Strategic objective four,

To attain a variegated and durable monetary base for AOA with a calculated performance better than the sector agency. By this, AOA will achieve a scorecard on the low-income populated countries by meeting the current programs’ needs and activities.

  • Strategic objective five,

Finally, by exercising integrity measure with professionalism in a vast way as amenable

organization globally and accredited at probably the highest position within the Australian growth sector (“Anglican Overseas Aid | Life. Abundantly. For All.”, 2021).

A research done by Schoenberg (2017) shows that most community people escalate the recognition of the usefulness of faith-based organizations ( FBOs) in health improvements. “ Issues to be addressed in the further development of faith-based health promotion include sustainability; adherence to the evidence-based operations of interventions, training, and privacy and protection protocols; and understanding the changing landscape of Australian public life.” AOA has performed a tremendous job in the health sector by intertwining religious practices and daily fabric values. It has developed and built faith in communities that morally imperatively assist anyone in need and deploy better health conditions on human beings. The AOA also looks at morality teachings than secular organizations, similar to family life and religious-based disease teachings. The Anglican agency’s ability to touch-base their work in religious influence, other community members, giving them a chance to ask moral duty  (Schoenberg 2017).

Furthermore, AOA’s roles in performing health campaigns have strengthened the state- agency relationship. The state also utilizes the AOA initiatives,  hence get promoted by funding initiatives to show that the organization is faith-based health intercession. However, the organization has balanced its mission and ensures better health care and transformative orientations on community participants and the neighboring.

While FBOs are crucial in providing health workers to other health organizations that address human conditions, they usually have limiting values. For instance, you’ll have to subscribe to some religion for you to receive the services. They also have a few resources allocated to achieve their human resource for health (HRH) skills and system policies. As a result, this has lowered their values in terms of accessibility to customers of AOA facilities.

The reports released by “Anglican Overseas Aid | Life. Abundantly. For All.”, (2021) show that the middle east and Africa has the most assertive Anglican church agencies. The presence of the organization’s substantive capability to influence the masses sends a high-quality efficacious development that helps the public. The Anglican church is smaller in size, but it has a long history of development initiatives that require extreme attention. Hence the AOA is committed to expressing its peacebuilding, poverty eradication, environmental conservation, and conflict resolution in the middle east.

The organization supports partners in four corners worldwide: Asia, the middle east, the Pacific, and Africa. The eligibility criteria within which the vulnerable country must operate is,

i).  It must be in contact with the Anglican church.

ii). Must be in dire need of improvements for their respective communities.

iii).  The chosen community or country should be within the area of the organizations’ priorities.

iv). Their need should be within what the organization can achieve and be realistic.

According to the report generated In the 2018/19 financial year, the expenses show that donations were the primary source of funding to the organization, “Anglican Overseas Aid | Life. Abundantly. For All.”, (2021) “All of the donations is used for the life-changing work that AOA supports.” Moreover its shows most of the money is given out to selected countries and communities than what comes in from the partners’ countries. Some of the cash is used in administration to ensure work is performed effectively.

“All our projects and internal processes are subjected to a rigorous audit process that ensures that all funds go to where they are directed. Our projects send narrative and financial reports detailing how money has been spent and benefits accrued.”

This organization gets help from local populations by disseminating Christian faith expression, creating more friends who join the Anglican church, hardworking, and participating in prayers in other churches or faith-based institutions. They give help regardless of your origin, race, or even gender to accomplish their mission for a sustainable world of the excellent and bearable environment (“Anglican Overseas Aid | Life. Abundantly. For All.”, 2021).

Ahli Arab Hospital is one of the public health established by the AOA after massive campaigns by female leaders for the women who have been affected by breast cancer. This project aims to address the stigma associated with breast cancer, which is earlier detected. Thus, early detection can help many access medication before the situation is out of hand, getting appropriate treatment. By achieving that, the health sector would have increased the survival rate of affected women and men (“Anglican Overseas Aid | Life. Abundantly. For All.”, 2021).

Additionally, this hospital runs a free screening. It has partnered with more than 20 community-based organizations that are very important in creating public awareness of the early checking and detection of cancerous symptoms, counseling, and social work to help the youth-run projects that can help them. The faith-based hospital is funded by the “Women’s Health and Wellbeing project,” and they get funds from the Australian authorities.

In conclusion, FBOs give most services which big bodies like government institutions don’t provide. The community has played a significant role in discovering themselves to serve people in dignity and persona skills gained from faith-based organizations like AOA. Thus, that has enabled valuable to obtain services from the health amenities, church-based teachings, community-based projects that promote lives. Additionally, the FBOs haves gained more trust that government-oriented organizations simplify because of better, visible and familiarity with the community members. Averagely, most people in the world are associated with religious beliefs that are crucial elements in their communal life (Schulz, 2021).
