The interns in this company plays a crucial role in supporting the various operations of the company. Working under the supervision of the experienced staff, the internship required execution of the different roles including;

• Supporting research and development work. Actively involved in research related to plastic recycling, with the main aim of creating different recycling techniques, developing new items or products, and also exploring solution to challenges of the plastic waste management.
• Analysis of the data and writing reports. Collected data related to the recycling of plastics, characteristic of the different plastics, and effects to the environment. This enabled writing of reports and presentation to the relevant stakeholders.
• Operational support. Engaged in the daily operations of the recycling processes, which was a good learning platform of the various stages of plastic recycling.
• Assisted in project management. Since plastic recycling entails different stages, I was part of the team that assisted the project managers in tasks such as budgeting, scheduling and monitoring the progress of the different projects.
• Supported in enhancing environmental compliance. Supported in conducting the environmental audits, and also ensured that the environmental standards were complied with.
